There is a decided need for an innovative and simple method of managing workplace relations. Gone are the days where discipline must be managed through thick policies, with management bashing the union and the union was seen to be destructive at work.
With the introduction of the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) in 1996 we saw shifting from the adversarial model of labour relations to a dispute resolution model based on promoting greater co-operation and industrial peace. Fast Forward to 2020, the fourth industrial revolution requires workplaces that work efficiently and effectively.
With the current economic climate, there is a growing need to ensure the survival of businesses so as to preserve jobs. This requires a different approach, one that builds from the gains achieved by the ccma.
Elawyers was established in 2001 to address this demand. Elawyers champions Labour-Management Collaborative Partnerships. While we still offer the traditional workplace relations services, in an innovative fashion, we believe that labour (unions) and the employer should work towards making the productive, while looking after the interests of one another.
Elawyers is an integrated labour and employee relations service that focuses on developing and maintaining a positive impact on the quantity and diversity of solutions and the implementation thereof in the workplace. We guide and assist businesses and labour in proactive and ensuring workplace collaboration, where management and labour share a common vision of what needs to be done for their continued survival of the business.
We are not responsive but proactive, our system of dealing with strikes is to avoid them, by ensuring that collective bargaining is more meaningful and that there is collaborative. We have a system of managing performance with monitors an employee’s performance every second week or monthly.
The vision of Elawyers is to be the leading independent and most innovative agency of dispute management with a view to promoting peace, participation, productivity and development in the workplace through 21st Century platforms.
In all our business dealings we are guided by the following principles which we strongly believe in:
Maintenance of a high reputation for professionalism and integrity in all that we do.
Collaboration with organizations and individuals to optimize the sharing of resources.
Striving to achieve long term relationships founded on mutual gain dealings, always operating in the spirit of service, fairness and harmony.
